What Are The Major Cities In South Ossetia?
South Ossetia declared it’s independence from Georgia and pronounced that it was a fully autonomous state in 1990. Up until 2008, when an armed conflict re-sparked tensions in the area, South Ossetia was sprinkled with small cities and villages, alternately occupied by both Georgian inhabitants and South Ossetians. Although South Ossetia declared it’s independence in 1991, it was not fully realized or recognized until 2008 when the armed conflict arose and settled the matter.
