Investment Opportunities

The Republic of South Ossetia seeks international investment for its developing economy, and offers a highly educated and motivated work force, along with plentiful natural resources and access to important Caucasian markets. In cooperation with the Russian Federation, South Ossetia is pursuing a wide range of projects aimed at rehabilitation of its postwar economy. These include the establishment of factories to produce building materials, the development of an airport and modernization of the agricultural sector.

Opportunities include tourism, food processing and light industry, and expansion of the transportation network linking South and North Ossetia. There are also light manufacturing opportunities, such as a state of the art textile plant, a major employer in the capital city of Tskhinval.
